Burn Ban Lifted for Ouachita County

Ouachita County Judge Robert McAdoo has lifted the burn ban for Ouachita County.

If you live inside the Camden city limits, you are required by city ordinance (27-05, § 4, 11-8-2005) to have a burn permit for any open burning — this includes fires in burn barrels, fire pits and rings, chimeneas, and other similar items.

A decision on burning is made daily at the discretion of the Fire Chief or Assistant Chief on duty, and may not be permitted based on wind conditions, humidity, or other factors. Permit holders must call to receive permission to burn each day, and only natural yard waste is allowed to be burned. Any open burning must be finished by sunset.

To obtain a burn permit, or for other information on burning inside the Camden city limits, please visit Central Station at 140 Van Buren Street NW, or call (870) 836-2413 between 7:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
